Howdy y’all! Welcome back to TX Votes’ Civic Notes for any and all updates going on in TX Votes! We have had an extremely successful semester so far and have even more exciting events happening soon.
The Semester So Far:
We have registered 2,100+ voters and counting! We are hard at work tabling and giving class presentations to get as many UT students and faculty ready to hit the polls this November.
Our First Meeting:
We kicked off the semester on August 29th with our first meeting! We had a tacos and tote bags for our members and clipboards to decorate for our VDRs. We even gave away not one, but TWO longhorn Pillow Pets. We loved hearing inspirational words from Bruce Elfant and Mark Strama, and we also loved seeing new and familiar faces!

Voter Registration Week:
We were able to give 43 classroom presentations and run 10 tabling events during voter registration week for a total of 536 registrations.
National Voter Registration Day:
Along with tabling at the SSB, the FAC, Speedway, and Bass Concert Hall, we had a plan to vote and snow cone event at West Mall, where students filled out a Google Form of when and where they are voting this fall. With that, they got a free snow cone! We had so much fun with this event since we gave out 400 snow cones, helped 349 people make a plan to vote, and got to register even more voters.

Pizza & Politics - Debate Watch Party:
A few of us TX Votes members showed up for the 2024 Presidential Debate Watch Party hosted by the Annette Strauss Institute!
